Hey again, I just went to Hyperdia and "shinkobe" was there. Are you typing it just like that? All one word? Try again because I just saw it and have also used it in the recent past for train times leaving from SHINKOBE and had no problems. The tickets for shinkansen trains are only available one month before departure so you would not be able to check April dates yet. If you are only checking hyperdia for time tables, you can type in the same day of the week within the next month if you want to get a general idea of what times you will be looking at for your departure from SHINKOBE.
Good luck! Oh, and don't say, "GOMEN KUDASAI" to the taxi drivers. They will be terribly insulted and will refuse to take you anywhere. (joking...)
">> "kobe station" is a local train station and not the main station of Kobe.<<
This is incorrect. Kobe station is a major stop for all JR trains, including the local express trains. "
I said it wasn't the main station for Kobe and I stand by it.
Sannomiya Station(s) is (are) the "main" train station for Kobe, as not only does it serve all JR commuter trains, it also services Hankyu, Hanshin, Kobe Subway, and Port Liner trains. It is also the only rail connection to ShinKobe Station, and the Port Terminal Station (before I found out he was going to Naka pier instead). Sannomiya's station's location is more centrally located to the shopping/entertainment areas, with larger access, thus my assessment and the assessment of many other people that even though "Kobe Station" has the name of the city, it is not the "main" station of the city. Including I was assuming he was coming in from the Port Terminal.Edited: 6:03 am, February 19, 2010
We are going on the same cruise i think- costa. There seems to be so much to do in Kyoto that we are hard pushed to know what to do- we certainly will not get around everything that we want to do. We are thinking of spending the whole of Fri in Kyoto. Sat we have to be back on the ship by midday so we are looking into Himeji or Nara on Sat morning.
