Hi: We will be sightseeing in Hiroshima and then would like to take the trian to Kurashiki. We will be using our JR Pass. How long of a ride is it? And, then we will be going on to Osaka. Again, how long is the train ride there? Thank you in advance!

NOZOMI / MIZUHO / HAYABUSA (SHINKANSEN)
There are several major rail stations in Osaka. The bullet (Shinkansen) trains all stop at Shin-Osaka, but not at Osaka Station.
Edited: 3:52 pm, February 05, 2013We did this trip last month although we stopped in Okayama instead of Kurashiki but they're pretty close. It's basically about 40mins for each leg, 40 mins to Kurashiki and then about the same time from there to Osaka.
One thing to think about if you've not already is to send your bags ahead of you to Osaka. We got our hotel in Hiroshima to do this so we wouldn't have to lug them around while sightseeing in Okayama and it only cost about 1500Yen per suitcase...
