We engaged Michael Yang as our tour guide and driver for a day-long excursion to the Terracotta Warriors and Han Yangling Mausoleum (don't miss the latter!). Although not normally lumped together on one itinerary, Michael accommodated our request and made the day very enjoyable.
Overall, we had a good time with Michael. You can reach him at firstname.lastname@example.org -- note: don't forget the "cn" at the end of the email address
Since there were only two of us, Michael was also our driver which made the tour price very reasonable. He was also a safe and conscientious driver, which is important to us Westerners as anyone who has been to China knows that for most other drivers, lanes and signal lights are suggestions only, and it's a sport to play chicken with jaywalking pedestrians and bikes/scooters coming the wrong way.
Michael speaks good English but doesn't jabber on incessantly. He is a thoughtful family guy who knows the area and the sights. His recommendation on a local non-tourist lunch stop was super, packed with locals enjoying the shop's biang biang mian and other specialties. He also added some fun local anecdotes to our conversations.
