The Great Mosque is open to the public from 8:00 to 19:00. The admission fee is 12RMB. It is in the area of Muslim Street behind Drum Tower.

Though it is living monastery for the local Musilim people, it is still a historical site in xian. It will be open through all years around except a few occasion like the funeral.

This is low season, the entrance fee will cost you 15rmb p.p.

Thank you, I asked because sometimes you are not allowed into a Mosque because of Friday prayers. The photos of this Mosque look stunning. Hope it is easy to find.

In fact most Mosques in China is generally off limits to non-muslim in northwest China. In modern big cities situation is little better. In south China, people are much more open.

The mosque was my favourite thing in Xi'an. It's beautiful. Not that easy to find - we walked past it at first!

Is the sign a picture of a mosque or written in english or is it in Mandarin.

If you start from Drum Tower,Through the tower you will see main street Just walk 1 minute turn left ,along nerrow road(two sides all stores} to middle of the road turn left ,you will see entrance of Great Mosque.After mosque you can see whole street.Thanks
