What do you recommend...A hotel (like Bell Tower) near Muslim quarter or a hotel (like xian garden) near the Big Pagoda. We are family with 3 teens. We know we will want to visit both Muslim Quarter (perhaps day and evening) but will also want to see the light show. We will have been in Beijing for awhile, so we will appreciate something that feels different. We do enjoy wandering. We will be staying for two nights. Thanks Report as inappropriate |

try city hotel xi'an and also wen yuan hotel the two hotel near the bell tower wenyuan ,close mulim quarter more as i know that they all 3 star xi'an garden hotel is one 4 star hotel and the style is Tang Dynasty which is close to Tang paradise Report as inappropriate | ||||||

Something different - We stayed at Xi'an HQ hostel, which was not a hostel in the traditional sense. Read my review. We had an apartment with two bedrooms all to ourselves for less then the cost of one room. The owners were wonderfully helpful and the location was perfect, just a five minute walk from the Muslim quarter, which was my favorite part of Xi'an. …moonfruit.com/#/xianapartment/4522730813 They were also able to get us tickets for our sleeper train from Xi'an to Beijing. I stayed at X'ian Garden hotel with my two sisters and 10 year neice last July. I would highly recommend it. My neice loved the peacocks that roamed the center courtyard area and we walked to the fountain/light show at the Big Goose pagoda. Taxis were cheap and readily available. We arrived early morning (by train from Beijing) and we were able to check-in. My neice and sister also took a Tai Chi class (free) which was offered at the hotel. As you are traveling with kids: my neice loved riding bikes on the old wall. Report as inappropriate | ||||||

I would definitely pick to be near the Muslim Quarter. Top recommendations for accommodation (you didn't indicate any price range) would be Shaanxi Wenyuan Hotel and HQ Hostel (http://www.hqhostelxian.moonfruit.com). Report as inappropriate | ||||||

I was in Xian last week and we stayed in the centre near the Muslim quarter at Citadines apartments which were good quality and reasonably priced. I would recommend this area as there is a lot of activity amongst local people in the square between the drum and bell towers in the evening which are good to wander around amongst. Also this area looks fantastic at night. Report as inappropriate | ||||||
