We had an absolutely amazing guide when we were in Xi'an. I can't say enough positive things about Richard; he was probably the best guide of our trip. Richard grew up as a farmer in the area around Xi'an and was chosen to be a farmer teacher by the communist party and learn English during the cultural revolution. He is very open about sharing his personal experiences of living in the area, which were absolutely fascinating. He has a love for his people and the area and takes great pride in showing it to visitors. His passion for his city and it's history is infectous and it was a joy to spend a few days with him. Also, he speaks impeccable English. Our trip was a few years ago so hopefully this is still his information: Richard Wang Richard_wgt@hotmail.com Tel/Fax: 029 7541181/7541261 Mobile: 13909268393

We hired Clarence Guo and were very dissapointed. He turned up 15 minutes late to start off with and things never got any better.

We were recommended to meet with clarence guo and had a really excellent tour that was customed to meet our needs. Clarence has spent a lot of time looking into the terracotta warriors and has a fascinating angle on how the warriors came to be in their current condition. He took us to the caves homes in the region as well as to some Daoist temples in Xian itself. Clarence is knowledgeable, freindly, flexible and takes his work seriously, we learnt a lot from him and have recommended him to other friends visiting the city. if we were to go back to Xian we would take another of his tours without hesitation. cheers, Toby and Mercedes
