No other options? However, the Hyatt isn't that far from the Canton Fair. I would suggest you to stay at the Shangri-La since it's right next door to the Canton Fair, but Hyatt is about a 5-10 minute drive away. I just saw it during in my trip (not a tall building (as in very tall...pretty much average about 20 or so floors).

Pazhou complex is on the other side of the river from almost EVERYTHING for now...hasn't been developed yet. If you went there last year you should know why. This year landscaping is all done, lots of the buildings are near completion, and the worker's temporary housing is demolished!

Train station- some hotels offer free transportation to their hotels. Some offer them for a small cost. But both ways, Pazhou is actually pretty far away- in traffic it's about a 45 minute drive and maybe more.

Thanks for your reply and advice. I was there 18mths to 2 years ago and the Shangri La was being built. I had forgotten about it so will check out their rates and availability.

You're welcome. Actually last summer it was open...but the Horizon Club department always says it is completely full when we asked them about the Canton fair even when we went there in July/August. Hopefully you get to find a spot...or else you will need to taxi or subway a lot.
