Guangzhou Forum: Gz to HK and back - visa requirements

Gz to HK and back - visa requirements

Travelling in China in February and will be based in Guangzhou for 2 weeks. Chinese embassy in London said that tourists cannot get unlimited entry visas, only business visas allow this. So I have a 2-entry visa.

The lady working at the counter in the embassey said that going from Guangzhou to Hong Kong and back again would not count as an exit and entry, for the purposes of my visa. That is that I could do it even with a single-entry visa.

Reading the Lonely Planet the advice seems to contradict this.

Anybody have any more information on this? Is it a similar situation if I wanted to make a short trip to Macau?

When you leave China for either Hong Kong or Macau you will use up one of your China visas.

If you go to Macau from Hong Kong, then you won't use your China visa.

Can you extend the number of entries at immigration by paying? or anything like that?

What's the easiest way to get from macua or HK or vice versa?

I know that you can buy a new visa in the GZ train station for multiple entries. An entrie counts from GZ to HongKong and back.

You take the ferry between HK and Macau. You can get Chinese visa while in HK (single/double/multiple) fast, for a price.
