Need your help to make good game for tourists

Hello everyone!

We're working on idea of "MoscowGame". We want every tourist who come to Moscow explore the city as best as he or she can. We want every tourist see not only the main historical attractions, but also everyday's russian life.

And also we want them to communicate a lot with russians. We suppose, this's the best way to discover the genuine russia.

So we think that the adventure game should be good motivation for such active communication and discover the rest of the Moscow. We want people have goals, try to win or reach something, talking a lot with the strangers on the street, walking and running a lot around Moscow trying to find... let's say the "key".

We are really interested in what you are thinking about this idea? Is it worth living? Can you give us your reccomendation? What prize should it be? What duration is good for such game - 1 day is ok? What's the reasonable price for this?

We would be very glad to get your answers and we're sorry about our English. But we'll work on it! :)

Thnak you very much in advance! And have great trips!!

Your idea is a good one. I'll be going there in 4 weeks and I'll be exploring the city. In terms of communicating a lot with russians--honestly what I heard on trip advisor russians are not that friendly right off the bat (as compared to Americans who smile a lot but are supposedly superficial). I don't quite know what to tell you. There seem to be a lot of tourists that have no trouble getting to know Russians (at least their tour guide). We all go there to see the country and meet the Russian people. What kind of ideas do you have specifically that I could give you some feedback on?

How about getting into one of the night clubs with that notoriously obnoxious face control on friday night to pass oneself for a native-russian? Sort of mixing into the local crowd to get a flavor of silly humiliation, or whatever that is? But what's the price for that and who would award it?

SchnappiLosAngeles, thank you for the answer!

I was worked as guide sometimes and I know other who still works. Usually they show tourists only the center. Of course, it's historical and nice, but it's not Moscow (or Russia). Other parts are quite different and there're usually no tourists even few metro-stops out of the center :) Usually tourists keep distance with locals. And this's until they don't need help or anything from locals. When tourist with his tour guide he's like with his mom)

The game can be started in the morning (8 am for example) and ended in the evening (at 10 pm aprox.). First, instructor meets tourist(s) and give them the 1st task explain what will they get finaly (this is the still the question to me.. I don't know what will be a good prize for successful finishing. Can you reccomend please?

The tasks may be as simple as: go to that place, find the point, do something their and get the matreshka. (I'm thinking about using Matreshkas as proving of being on the point. One map point - one matreshka. So you'll get full complect by the end if you did everything right:)

The could be very different.. for example I yesterday I was thinking about these 2:

1. find out what's the sens of the song "33 kows" and what's the lyrics :) Every russian knows it so there's no problem to ask. But it's fun to discuss it :)

2. take 15 (5, 10, 30...?) pictures with you and russians together (or hugging:)

To find the place tourist might need to solve easy task. For exaplme the building number is the same with metro-bus number (on particular station) minus the number of metro stops on the circle metro line.

Every matreshka, that tourist get will get might be with two papers inside. The first one in short - next task. Then 2nd one is the legend, describing russia or russians. I will try to make them correspondance so tourist can see what will he found out next. For example I don't know at least one tourist who took the local Moscow trains!! But it's so russian! And the paper can describe the charecter of this trains and the way russain travels.

What do you think? Is it interesting? What's should be the prize and price?

Thank you very much,

Nikita.

Well, I meant awards, actually. Rightly so, if a good game takes place, then there should be competetive spirit in it. And that spirit needs fuel to burn, award for achivers that is. May be just virtual ones, but necesserally attractive. Just have to come up with creative ways to invent and give those awards away.

thanks for promt respons!

you're saying exactly what I was expecting to hear!

There's should be competetive spirit in it.

And what do you think will be good enough award?

What's can be as virtual? A sertificate of "Best Russia Discoverer" or so?)

Good enough, and allow them to add that title to their forum signature.

And more of reasonable awards? Hm…. Setting up a virtual Hall of Fame for names of winners on the Kremlin wall, by mausoleum, if that does not hurt other members sensitivity. For that matter, NYC’ Times Square buildings are good to put any heretic messages on them, so it would an option to keep in mind.

Right, there are web tools to create Vogue magazine covers with one's own photos, or paint it on Times Square building walls, tools so much loved by silly girls on social web sites who are craving for glamour.

And yes, I will be in Moscow from the end of Sep to early October. So, wassup going on in town these days, any action expected?
