What's a good area for hotel in Cebu City?

Hi, I will be traveling solo to Cebu City, spending a couple of days in the city seeing the sights during the day and partying at night, before heading off to Bohol and later El Nido. In which part of Cebu City should I stay? I'd prefer to be close to the sights and within reasonable distance to nightlife. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think you should be looking around Ayala Mall, you have plenty of choices of hotels like the Marriott, Quest, Tune, Diamond Suites, Elizabeth Hotel, Golden Prince, La Florentina Pension, Islands and Parklane - something to suit everyone's budget. The location isn't far from most things to see in Cebu, including nightlife.

Thank you. I was looking around Ayala but also in banilad area as well as the radisson blu (not sure what area that is). How do these 3 areas compare? Still best to stay near Ayala?

Thank you very much!!

With the traffic in Cebu, it is best to stay in Ayala area. Marriot has a good location, being adjacent to Ayala mall.

I am not a fan of the Radisson mall area. Too much traffic, crowded and dusty. Banilad area is good for night life.

Awesome thank you. Is there much nightlife in the Ayala area? My primary reason for staying a couple of days in Cebu before hitting the beach is to enjoy the nightlife.

Thank you.

What types of nightlife are you looking for? Jazz bars, girlie bars, live band bars, disco etc. ?

My guess is Mango Avenue will suit you.

They have disco and girlie bars there.

Ha ha. That's great. Anyway, I appreciate the tip and will pick a spot nearby where you suggested. My time in Cebu is to get settled in and party before heading off to the more tranquil Bohol and Palawan. Thank you!
