yes, our group of friends go there regularly. Not only are their food good, the pictures and paintings on the walls are nice. Every so often these pictures/paintings are changed. They are actually for sale. The aussie owner is a hands on chef and you could hear him working at the kitchen just like those tv series where Gordon Ramsey stars in without the bad words, of course.
Wow, I've eaten there without even reading its reviews prior to my visit. I agree with the reviews giving it a score of 5/5.
Tommo, can highly recommend canvas. The owner has been a chef all over the world, finally settling in Cebu. As a Brit I hankered for fish and chips, and canvas was very good. Incidentally I think Ayala mall has some of the best restaurants anywhere in Cebu, try several if you get the chance
Does the restaurant only serve Western Food or are there Asian and in particular Filipino dishes on the menu?
If its mainly western dishes I can get them at home. But it a great wrap for the Aussie Owner with such great reviews.
To those including TA member al22tec who may not yet have formally reviewed Canvas in Cebu City on TA, it would be much appreciated if you could do so when you have the inclination and time.
Submitting a formal review through 'write a review' on the TA home page gives TA a larger sample of opinions from which to award the restaurant, accommodation or tourist attraction a relative popularity ranking.
I might learn something new: an added bonus.
If I remember it right they serve mostly Western dishes including pasta and desserts, they also have some Mexican items (quesadillas) and Chinese (chicken with Chinese spices or something). To say it safely, they specialized in Asutralian fusion cuisine.
victorianland, let me schedule a meal again so that I can be updated with their menu. I know they have been slowly adding to their menu, informing us of any upcoming new ones. Hopefully within this week or weekend.
victorialand, canvas review sent!
