Coral Dreams - Snorkeling

Hello, my friend and I will be in Contadora in 2 weeks, and we are wondering if anyone has advice on the snorkeling/island hopping through Coral Dreams? Has anyone been and can tell us how their experience was? What time the tour started? How much? Was it worth it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I have used them often (whenever I fly to Contadora) and I highly recommend them. The "tour" starts when you get there; just go and sign up. It is always the BEST adventure!

I have spent time on Contadora, the main island of Las Perlas and the

water and the beaches are beautiful.

Stop by Coral Dreams, across from the AeroPerlas office, and see

Guillermo about sight seeing the other islands. He is very knowledgable

and a great guide and he speaks English, French and Spanish . He can

take you for Scuba, snorkle, or just sight seeing. His rates are very

reasonable and his boat is safe.

Avoid the locals that hang out around the beach. They speak little english and may

not be as safety conscious as Guillermo.

We took a 2 hour snorkeling tour with Coral Dreams who takes you around

on a boat to different islands in the Archipelago. One of the private

islands we snorkeled off of had the softest sand I have ever stepped on

in my life.

With Guillermo we took his safe boat to Mogo Mogo, the island where the

Survivor series was filmed, and where there is a natural pool ideal for

relaxing. I have also been on very exciting whale catching (sighting) trips

with him.

From what I hear, the diving is great around the islands, lots of reefs

and an incredible amount of marine life.

We were just there in mid-May, 2012. Although we do not dive, we visited Coral Dreams Dive Shop to book a water taxi to another island. The owners were very accomodating and the prices reasonable. Guillermo is an extremely knowledgable and conscientious guide, and a very friendly and pleasant fellow as well. We would absolutely use them again on a future visit.

Thieves? Everyone? I find that really hard to believe. I had a great 2 weeks there when Contadora Beach Resort was still open. I met some good people who were quite generous with their time and helpfulness. I wonder what happened to Marco and his boat tours. Now THAT was a great snorkeling trip.

I think it is very unfair to make an island so expensive that the locals can not aford to go there......after all we are visitors in their country.........I was happy diving with coral dreams, nice and friendly people two tank dive 95 dollar (in Bocas del torro i payed 60 dollar)
