What should I expect to pay in a taxi from KL airport into city centre (Park Royal Hotel)?
And what should I expect to pay from Airport on Sabah to the Ras ria?
Thanks for the help
KKIA-Rasa Ria is about RM100. Check with bigw,he has just visited Sabah & stayed in Rasa Ria i believe.
I am still at Rasa Ria. Buy a Voucher at the taxi counter on the right as you exit the arrival area.. It will cost RM 90.
The fare into the city should be RM 30.
Hey thanks heaps! just what I need
'the fare into the city should be RM 30' ???
How come the last time we were there , the indian man charged us 60???
can't believe it we got rip off!!
How do the vochures work? do drivers take off what they charge us? are they only for use in KL?
The correct fare should be RM30 if you are buying from the taxi counter. The only possibility that you got charged RM60 is take-you hire illegal transportation.
Beware-They are many drivers standing aeouns arrival hall offering rides, but they are not appointed by the airpprt authority.
@Marryanneperth,just go to the taxi counter, you can easily spot them in the airport. Pay & buy your voucher,go for taxi queue outside, these taxis are white in colour. Just pass the driver your voucher,no additional payment is needed.
sounds perfect thanks heaps
For the Kuala Lumpur portion of your question, it works the same way.
Buy a voucher at the taxi counter as you exit the arrival hall. A budget taxi costs about RM74 to the KL city centre. Take the voucher to the taxi rank / queue by the roadside outside. Handover the voucher to the driver, no other payment is required.
Surcharges will apply after midnight. Also the bigger premier taxis will cost more.
Lots of info available in the Kuala Lumpur forums.Edited: 5:41 am, April 06, 2011
The red and white taxis are also fine in Kota Kinabalu.
What's the difference between the red and white taxis at the airport in KK? I arrive in KK at 21:45, probably not exiting airport until 23:00, will I have to pay more than RM30?
