SIM card for mobile phone?

Hi

Are there shops selling SIM cards in the Fukuoka international airport and when do these shops close? My flight might arrive around 9.00pm - would shops be closed by then?

I'm planning to stay at Valie Hotel Tenjin - are there mobile phone shops near this hotel?

Thank you

SIM cards sold in stores (if available) require proof of Japanese residency or a Japanese mobile phone to activate.

Thanks all for your comments. I wasn't aware that buying a SIM card requires proof of Japanese residency or a Japanese mobile phone to activate....I thought I could just walk in a shop, as a tourist and just buy one......interesting.
