I will be in Japan for 2 weeks towards the end of March into early April. I plan on acclamating in Tokyo for a day or so before setting out for the countryside. Here's what I have on the itinerary so far: 2 nights each in Hakone, followed by Yudanaka (Shibu-Onsen), and then Takayama. From Takayama, I'm thinking 3 nights in Kyoto, and a final 2 nights back in Tokyo before I head back home. Questions: 1. Does this itinerary sound reasonable considering travel times and how many attractions there are in each place? 2. In looking at jorudan to get train info, there are a lot of tight connections between Yudanaka and Takayama. Anyone have experience with this specific route?
