Building work at Sentido Phenicia

Received a letter from Thomas Cook stating that there are building works in progress sufficient enough for them to advise travellers. They have given the option of changing accommodation. Has anyone else received this?

Has anyone else just returned and can confirm how extensive/disruptive these works are.

Thanks in advance.

According to a reply to one review dated 8th Nov, 2nd and 3rd floors are now being refurbished. No mention of any disruption by guests.

Its the same in most hotels from this time of year, quieter so they get more jobs done.

When are you going?

We are going here, Sunday, why have they left it so late to tell us (16.00 Friday), we were thinking of the Marhaba Palace but decided against due to the noise, now this?

Do we have to take the holiday?

Never had any noise at the Marhaba Palace at all in April. Going back again 11th Dec.

Like i said, most hotels will be doing their decorating from December onwards ready for the next busy season.

We have been reading the reviews most mention the need for refurbishments. The only positive thing so far is that there is hardly any mention of works being done and this does not appear to be much of an issue......... Yet!

We've been on the phone to THomasCook this morning, they've offered different hotels using our original flights. They want us to pay extra for the Seabel Alhambra Beach Golf & Spa, They mention it's all in the terms and conditions. When quizzed they admit that we weren't sent them but to have a look on line.

Should we pay the extra?

What other hotels have you been offered??

I really dont think you will be in the thick of anything too disruptive just yet to be honest.

Some 3 starhotels with poor trip advisor reviews, we seem to come back to Seabel Alhambra Beach Golf & Spa.

Problem is there aren't many reviews on Trip Advisor, I think because it's mainly a German Hotel.

We still don't know what to do.
