Once your transfer vehicle sets off it's about 40 minutes or so. Depends on what type of transfer you opt for, and if it's shared transport how many stops before yours.

There are zilliions of previous threads about October weather. Just type 'October weather' into the search box at the top of the page. But it should be very pleasant.

Things to consider doing...

Are you flying into Enfidha airport? If you are its not far to Hammamet about 45 mins, we had a shared transfer and stopped at 2 other hotels before ours

I can tell you they are a friendly bunch. Also if you tip the waiters etc on your first night they remember you. After that either a nice tip in the evening or as I did watever little moneys you have give them. They appreciate anything but just as much they like polite people. They were definately more attentive to the polite people as to the rude ones.

I still can't get over my wonderful holiday.

I'm going back next year.

Hi Lorraine ,

Glad to see you going back do you know when ?

Lorraine is right tipping here n there they do really appreciate it most work 6days a week long hours each day with out a decent break unlike us and their month income is say for example barmen/waiters is around £150 a month and out of that they pay rent and send money home to their family how they manage to smile all day is beyond me ! So they do rely on tips to boost up their income :)

7. Re: what to expect from tunisia ?

The danger with tipping is that hotel managements and owners consider it as a perk of the job as far as the staff are concerned. Therefore some member of staff won't dare ask for pay increase. No wonder some of them would do anything you ask them to do for that extra couple of dinars. And yes, as Lorraine rightly said, good tippers get attention, bad or non tipper tend to be ignored. In Tunisia money serioulsy talks!!!

The other sort of tipping that is of concern is the sort of "fly tipping" that is all that rubbish on roads and along the beach. The place always looks a tip.

Cheers

Cas

Well if i paid 20% extra on my beer, it would make no difference as i am expected to pay it anyways,. I guarantee the bar owners are making a healthy profit on that beer and us the public are subsidising this culture of pay your staff peanuts and put the guilt trip on the people buying the beer, to make up their wages.

Next you will be telling me this super power does not free health care etc, Oh wait? ;o)
