Haven't stayed but it's in a good location, about 150 metres from the beach and lots of shopping and bars outside the front gate. You'll get lots of exercise walking up and down the 200 metre driveway each day.

We are staying there in about 8 weeks. Friends of ousr stayed there last year and loved it. We have booked a gasalong room which looks lovely.

It's huge and within short walk of Patong beach and everything you need. This is our 10th trip to Phuket and we have wanted to stay there for a while but I thought it was too dear. As it turned out, it is very reasonable.

Cheers Liz

Hi All

We stayed there May last year for 14 days, our group was made up of two couples celebrating 50th birthdays.

On arrival we were upgraded to pool rooms, with kingsize beds, these had typical thai beds. Very hard to sleepon until we asked if they could put a topper placed on them, they were then very acceptable to sleep on. The resort is huge with 3 pools in varying size, we spent the majority of our pool time around the middle size pool. Breakfast was quite varied but with a resort of this size, it was bulked cooked,

The resort is close enough to everything but far enough to be out of it, very close to Bangala Rd, shops, Otop markets and restaurants. We only had breakfast and night caps at the resort (and lunches around the pool)

We would recommend this resort, be pleasant go with a smile and you will enjoy. We are looking to return there later this year

Cheers

Hi Naomi,

we stayed there in a pool view room 2 years ago and found the resort awesome, great breakfasts as well as the biggest pool i have ever seen.

We have stayed at the Merlin, very nice, but rooms are quite Western which I don't like. You really need to get the full Thai experience.

Be aware room choice can be important. Some rooms are very far from reception and the front gate. There are many different types of room styles. TA has info on Duangjitt rooms if you search.

The cheapest rooms (Superior) are ok, but deluxe pool view are a better option if not too much more. If you go Superior, there are rooms that will give you pool view and still not be too far from reception. I'd go first floor to get a better view of the pool.

Duangjitt has far nicer grounds and far bigger pools than Patong Merlin, but Patong Merlin has a better poolside vibe and, unless things have changed, a better breakfast. PM is a more convenient location, but it's only 5 minutes walk extra to Duangjitt.

IMO Duangjitt should be far more popular with Australian tourists. Spend a night or two in the Family Suite if your budget can stretch that far.
