So many cant decide, please your help 4-5 Star Hotel!

Hi all,

Can anyone make some recommendations? We (a couple 25-30) are looking for a hotel with the following;

- Great pool

- Location close to Patong, within walking distance ideal but must also be quiet. Or within 5-10 min cab ride

- Not lots of screming kids (I love kids but not screming all day at the pool)!

- 4- 5 star, beach view rooms that are a bit extra special, balcony

- Price range would be up to $350 per night (in March 08) for 7 night

- Prefer Thai style, we dont want anything to Westernised

And recomendations would be great, I find one that looks okay then its too expensive or too far out.

Am I asking for too much?

Thanks again

Kylie

Kylie,

Try the Impiana Cabana Hotel. Very central, walking distance to everywhere and right on the beach. It is a good 4+1/2 star hotel. We had friends who stayed there. We stayed at the Patong Bay Garden Resort - 3+1/2 star - small elegant Thai boutique style - Andaman Suite - also highly recommended (2 x front beach floor units with balcony right on the beach)

have a look at

and

Enjoy and hope this helps

i would suggest you look at Burasari hotel and also Amari coral beach. Both are close to patong but not in the busy shopping district.

Both are quieter boutique hotels so there proably will not be as many kids around.

Check out the reviews for both hotels on tripadvisor website.

Hope that helps.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn October 2006 then again in July 2007. When we came home the first time our adult children wanted to go, so we all travelled in a group of 6 from age 21 to 53 we all had a ball. There is something to do for everyone and the hotel was fantastic. The buskaporn wing is the best.

Read details on trip advisor on this hotel. You won't find a better one.

Also, for walking distance into center of Patong Graceland resort, across the road from the beach, try for seaview or garden view room, nice pool. If yuo don't mind being a little out from patong what about Le Meridien, that is just south of Patong in it's very own cove so lovely beach and large pools, lots of restaurants, but you can get into Patong easily. Most places are large/modern. The center of Patong is very busy. Further south from Le Meridien on hllside above north end of Karon Beach is centara Villas ( great views ) which is more 'tropical' in style, April to october from about AUD 100, 245 gets you a pool villa ! High season that would be around AUD 335, Spa villa 275, Ocean facing deluxe room 220, low season about 145. That wouild mean a tuk-yuk ride into Patong in around 10 minutes, but you do get a very tropical Thai style place with superb view south over Karon and the sea, the only downer though is that it is on the hillside but plus is a walkway down to the beach, quite romantic too!

I woud add Centara Villas is a more couples/romantic orientated place than a family place. cCntara are a very well know group in Thailand which includes Sofitels etc so you certainly have the quality aspect.
