Greetings from rainy aonang! The Tubkaak has its own taxis and they charge (i think) about 300 baht each way.
We're here right now and it costs 500 baht for a private van. The roads are pretty poor due to construction so I would recommend taking an SUV or van as a car or motocycle will be a bumpy ride! It's absolutely beautiful here - I know you'll enjoy it. The Tubkaak has such a nice beach with great views of the Hong Islands.
Thanks for the information - as you are there now - what's the food like?
We go in 3 weeks time today - and can't wait now!
The food is pretty good here. I'm getting a little tired of Thai food so have been eating burgers and such. :) Their pineapple rice is good and I think the buffet breakfast is amazing, especially since it's included. Comes with fresh fruit, pancakes, bacon, sausages, omelettes or other eggs of your choice, and lots more! And the best part is that it is right on the beach so you're looking at the islands while you dine. Absolutely stunning scenery! I would recommend to put major sunscreen on though because my husband and I got badly sunburned on our first day and so we're taking it easy these couple of days (that's why I'm inside emailing). Be wise and apply all the time! Have a great time!
