In December 2005 we spent 3 weeks at Palm Pavillions...a condo north of Hua Hin city, a little south of the airport.
The condo we stayed in was a one bedroom 60 square meter apartment. Most apartments appear to be about that size...some are two bedroom units and a little larger.
The condo complex consists of two building, each about 11 stories tall with perhaps 20 rooms per floor.
It sits at the edge of the beach and has a nice infinity pool.
We rented the condo from the building management
They have a number of rooms available for rent for owners who use the place only occassionally.
The room we rented was sparcely furnished and not very attractive. But it was clean and had a nice sea breeze blowing through all the time.
The rent was 30,000 baht per month.
The place has a security service monitoring people who come and go so it felt safe.
During December there's not a big crowd so the place was almost deserted.
We had some issues with a burnt out light bulb and a microwave that didn't seem to work. We complained to the management but they were absolutely worthless and didn't do a thing.
If you don't have a car and don't want to take a taxi you might have a bit of trouble getting around. There's a public van that passes the condos by during the day that goes into the city but it stops running out that far at night .
It's a little remote so there's not much to do other than stay in the condo or find a way into town.
But it was a pleasant stay...although I wasn't impressed enough to stay there again.
