We are going to sri lanka between 16 and 28 August 2007

We fly to Colombo.. Do we go east (Arugam?) for the weather or do we head south (tangalla?) for the unspoilt beaches and what seem to be better resorts?

weather...??

Also hoping to see the festival at kandy...Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Arugam is best visited from the south coast, can't find a driver willing to bring you there from Colombo due to perceived 'security risks'.

So better first visit Tangalle/Hambantota, and from there decide on venturing out to the southeast or not.
