Hi Chandrana,

We are 4 couples from Brazil, first time in SE Asia. We booked our flight from Thailand to Singapore (where we first thought of staying for 3 nights, before coming back to Dubai) for Sep 20 but then we noticed this will be the weekend of the F1 race and so the hotel prices in SIN are very high for these dates. Then we saw the nice offers for Batam and we are thinking of booking these 3 nights at the Harris Centre, close to the ferry. My question is: do we need visas for entering Batam? We are planning to go to Singapore every morning and come back late in the afternoon, just to have dinner in Batam and sleep. How much does the ferry cost per person and where is the ferry terminal located in Singapore? Thanks

You do need VISA .

the visa system here is

$US10 = 3 days /per enter/per person

$US25 = 30 days /per enter/per person

you would be paying $US10 for each entry you make .

Ferry ride per person is aproximately $43 / 2 ways , $26 / 1 way (if i'm not mistaken) .

In Singapore it is located at Harbour Front Center (next to Vivo City Mall)

In Batam , just next to your Harris Hotel Batam Center , is at Batam Center Ferry Terminal .

I guess your questions have been answered. I personally would just stay in some budget hotels in Singapore to save cost rather than travelling back and forth to Batam with 4 couples. The visas, tickets, travel time, and the troubles are not really worth it =)

But whatever you choose, Batam welcomes you! lol
