Are the islands worth it?

Hello,

I'm headed to singapore for about 6 days and trying to figure out where I want to be. I was thinking of hitting an island like Batam or Bintan or Sentosa for a couple nights but from what i've been reading it's just not worth it. Can anyone recommended any other islands for good snorkeling I can take a ferry to from Singapore.
