bali hai

we got married at the Bali Hai, Tuban, in September 05 and it was fantastic, lovely food and a beautiful day, Rani weddings the company that deal at the Bali Hai were so helpful and accomodating, flowers were great, although don't sign any bar bills from the night until the next day when your not intoxicated as there were a few extras on our bill which we had removed before signing. The hotel was lovely and clean. Happy hour is great!!!!! The themed food nights with entertainment were quite expensive although food was tasty. Lots of great nightlife in Kuta some posh bars and be sure to hit the bounty club, lots of nice restaurants although make sure you get out early as they shut around 11ish. Everything is so cheap you can't spend your money, we wouldn't go to Europe again unless it's all inclusive. For a lovely cheap day and gorgeous beach head to Nusa Dua theres a great little beach shack next to where the Bali Hai drop off for Scuba Diving. For great waves head to Jimbaran Bay. Sanur beach was quite dirty although there is a fab Japanese restaurant. You can get some bargains at the market but be prepared to barter away don't except the first price half it and more before buying. Bali is such a lovely island a great holiday where you can do as little or as much as you wish.

My fiance, 22yo daughter and I also stayed at the Bai Hai for 2 weeks in Sept 2005 and were very disappointed with the room. The A/C in my daughters room worked really well but the one in our room we had running 24/7 to try and cool the room down and despite continual complaints and the maintenance people looking at it there was no improvement. After a week of putting up with this iwent to the front desk to complain once again but this time I did it differently and demanded to be shifted to another room. By the time we had walked back to our room to pack there was another maintenance man there with a remote control to the A/C unit, once we had lowered the temperature on the remote it was heaven. The bathroom was also a problem, the bathtub had a hole drilled into the tiles on the side and when you had a shower (that was in the bath)the water ran down the drain and out the side of the bath across the bathroom floor and down a drain in the floor. The room had a musty smell except just after the cleaners had been around. We had this place recommended to us it was classed as a 4 star resort but our room definitely wasn't. The resort was very tired and needed a facelift. In saying that our holiday was fantastic, we made some great Balinese friends and will be returning to Bali at the end of August 2006 for our honeymoon (no daughter this time). We are touring around the whole island this time. We will not be staying at the Bali Hai.
