Bottled White Wine - Legian

Planning a 16 day trip to bali and know I will not be able to do without some drinkable wines. Been told there are supermarkets where I could purchase a dozen but not sure where or which place it is.

Try Hattan or Two Island wines.

The Two Island wines are said to be made from Australian grapes.

Is Hatten a supermarket or the name of a wine?

A Balinese wine.

It has a unique taste!

Average Australian wines in Bali are about $10 a bottle.

Just past bintang supermarket is a wine shop that sold Aussie wines at a reasonable price. My wife was very happy!. It's the green building about 100 or so meters past bintang heading towards seminyak.

Hi Rebecca,

There is a well known supermarket in Seminyak (a cheap taxi ride from Legian) called Bali Deli

Besides being a true gourmet deli, they have a good liquor section and are as good a price as you will find.

My recommendation to you would be the Two Islands brand. They do a chardy and another white and as one poster said, they are made from imported Australian grapes (hence the name) thus avoiding the exorbitant import taxes. Quite quaffable but not exactly Grange quality ;-) Expect to pay about 180,000rp, about $17

Incidentally, you will not buy Australian wine anywhere in Indonesia for $10 a bottle. As an example, Jacobs Creek wines In OZ that sell for under ten bucks will set you back a staggering $45 plus.

Surfers Paradise...

I buy mine from Bintang, Australian white wine expensive, Just drink half as much. Can't cope with Hattens, would rather drink Bintang anyday. The shop strongy23 suggests is good also. But I stock up on water, beer, tonic snacks fruit etc. put it all on a trolley unload into a cab, get it done in one hit.

I tried many and find Plaga wines to be the best for a reasonable price.

I like cape discovery but also find plaga just as nice and its cheaper. At home I drink sav blanc, usually oyster bay and I actually like those two more..maybe they are more suited to Bali's climate. I have only tried the sav blanc.
