Hi I'm going to Bali for my hooneymoon as was wondering what currency to buy? I live in England.
I'd suggest you take your pounds with you and exchange in Bali as you will get a better rate.
Just be aware that you need 150,000Rup Departure Tax, so put that away with your passports at the beginning of your holiday.
Money Changers: be wary of the ones that charge Commission, and ones that have only have small notes 20,000rup(walk out and go somewhere else) and also ones that have the one guy behind the counter, and his 'off sider' who will stand 'guard'. They usually work their own 'magic'.I would not use these guys at all.
Take your own calculator, helpful when shopping also.
My husband takes rubber bands (put some around your calculator), and puts these around the notes once he has counted them himself.
Most people recommend the Kodak shops, although if staying in Legian close to Seminyak I can recommend a good money exchange.
Our friend uses Kuta Central, there is one near the Discovery Shopping Centre.
Sorry, should have said your honeymoon, Congrats to you both!!
