My wife, a professional woman of Indian origin but now living in the UK, is visiting Gujarat in February 2014 and one her 'must do' sites is Dholavira. She has done some research into Harappan culture and is likely to want spend equvalent of a whole day there. The present provisional plan is to reach Dholavira by noon, check into the Toran Tourist Complex and see the site the same afternoon and again the following morning before moving out.
But some sources indicate that the Toran Complex is unsuitable even for a single overnight stay because of the poor facilities. Can someone please elaborate on this, especially regarding cleanliness, sanitation and food availability. The only other practical alternative that we can find is a place called Jantilal Ni Hotel in Rapar but can find no reviews.
She will not mind spending more for better accommodation and so may I request some information on any other accommodation as close as possible to Dholavira? Thanks.
