Cash, trav cheques or debit card??

Hi All. What would you recommend as the best way of taking cash out to Goa. Is it easy just to change up English money when out there? Would rather that than going through the inconvinience of getting travellers cheques, but will go down that route if advised? Are there plenty of cash machines in Goa (we're in the Varca Beach area), as that would be ideal just to take a debit card and get cash when there? Many thanks in advance for all replies.

hi Sean and Sarah, cash is easy to change in Goa but would be inclined to take emergency flow of readies and rely on ATMs of which there are plenty. If your debit card is the Nationwide flexi account you wil be laughing as there is no commission charged for using that as long as there is a visa sign displayed/ Travellers cheques you get hit both ways in this country and in Goa so not a good option

Enjoy

We are going next week and are only taking cash and visa card in case of emergency.

Check on your travel insurance you are usually covered for a certain amount of personal money.

Goa is very safe. You can carry INDIAN RUPEES as well with you. Otherwise there are alot of ATMa where you can withdraw money - mastercard or visa. You can also exchange money for INr at all good hotels
