Itinerary help needed

Hi

Am travelling to New Delhi from Hyderabad and have about a week to do it. Would prefer to use the train system (don't mind sleepers) and like some touristy stops on the way. Open minded about what we want to do and will be travelling in the second week of October 2012.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Tlhis is a question For New Delhi forum and not for Hyderabad forum

You can travel to Delhi by many trains try the following link

http://indiarailinfo.com/search/834/664

It takes over 24 hours. It is better if you book flight 3 months in advance where you get tickets at much cheaper price and you save time too.

You can do Delhi (2 nights)

Agra by train in the early morning

take late evening train to Jaipur 2 nights

Jaipur Jodhpur by train 1 night

or from Agra you can go to Varanasi and Khajuraho too. in that case you first go to Jaipur, then Agra, then Varanasi and then Khajurao

While travelling from Hyderabad to Delhi except for Agra rest of the Tourist places would be atleast 200 kms.

Hyderabad to Nagpur 8 hrs train journey you can take a break and visit Pench & Kanha National Park (if interested in Wild Life) You would still need to travel atleast 150 kms by Road or take a package with vehicle from Nagpur.

Nagpur to Jhansi is 11 hrs by train and from Jhansi to Khajuraho Temples is around 180 kms.

Jhansi to Agra is around 3-4 hrs with a distance of 200 Kms.

Agra to Delhi is 200 Kms with 2-3 hrs journey depending on the train.
