Trying to find info on where this hotel is located please? Is it anywhere near the Sengambia strip. Have previously stayed at Senegambia and Sarges and wanted something in a similar loaction, but at a cheaper price? Or is worth paying the £100 extra to go to Senegmabia. Any advice please?

I personally would pay the extra £100 then your right on door step, of the strip.

Think weve passed mansea beach hotel don a dirt road and i dont think it would be that easy to walk from every night.

Then you have to take into account how many taxis you would need for your stay.

Hi ya,

Mansea is on the dirt track but we walked every day up to the strip, 10 mins max. This does lead down to the beach.

You will need a torch to get across to the strip, but no problems.Mansea is basic but if you're out all the time as we were then it not really matter but then it personal choice, but the prices do vary .

I think its an easy enough walk too. We stayed down that end in February and it took approximately 10 minutes into the centre. Some nights the street lights were on and on otheres they weren't so a torch is required.

walk down the strip turn left at main road 200 yds on left dirt football pitch hotel bottem right hand corner, or holiday beach hotel about the same price turn right out of sarges 60 yds on the right dirt track hotel about 100 yds down, Senegambia closed till august for refurbishing was looking a bit jaded in april but with new pool could be worth the extra.

Hi, Stayed at Mansea twice a year for the last 8 years, basic but we love it.most of Gambia is basically down a dirt track it just has no street lighting but we have not found this a problem especially for my wife who is blind any way.

Max ten min walk after a good meal or night out is great under the African night sky.

We stayed at the Mansea for last New Year, having never been to The Gambia before. It is very basic and the water wasnt always hot but the staff more than made up for these mere inconveniences. To get to the strip It is a short walk for an able-bodied person along a sandy road (abt 5 mins)- there are always really cheap cabs if you cant be bothered to walk!! For the more adventurous, directly opposite the hotel is a pathway/dirt track that brings you out next to the Senegambia Hotel - only recommended for day times - too dark and too many trip hazards for night!! We are going back in January!
