The Blue Lagoon Cruise on the Mystique is nicer than the Captain Cook Curise on the Reef Escape. It is a better ship, newer, better accommodations. The Reef Escape is older and has not been updated very well. You may think about the Barefoot Sail Safari from Captain Cook Cruises, the Tui Tai(smaller cruise ship, less people, more personalized service, great food, lots of fun), or from the Blue Lagoon cruises the Fiji Princess which is their new ship and it is a catamuran.
The differences between Namale and Vatulele;
Vatulele: The food is excellent. I ate things there that I normally wont touch and it was great. The presentation is very good also. At Vatulele they eat together with all the other guests at a very long table, or you can sign up for private dinners, but the venues are limited. There are some things to do at Vatulele, snorkelling is good, there is good diving, you can take the sea kayaks out, and there are Massages. You can also take a hike to these caves where you can go swimming in the caves. There is also a trip to see the Red Prawns, there are only a couple places in the world to see the prawns and there is a lot of history around them. There is a great long beach, which is great for picking up shells.
Namale: The food is good. There are tons of activities at Namale, there is; very good diving and snorkelling, a terrific full service spa, swimming pool, water skiing, tennis, horseback riding, basketball, sea kayaks, mt bikes, bowling, a putting green, and fishing. There are more activities, but not enough room to write them. They do not have a really long beach, but it is very jungley and if someone is at one end and someone else is on the other end of the beach you would not know it. Namale has some great areas for private dining, ask for the cave. It is very romantic.
Sorry my posting is so long.
