Best Beach Snorkelling off Taveuni / small kid friendly

We are a couple with a 3.5 year old, and would like the best snorkelling off the beach (been to the Yasawa's great snorkelling spots last year). A sandy safe beach would be a bonus and immersion in local culture too. Thinking of Bibi's Hideaway, Makaira or open to any suggestions; got 10 days to spend. Budget to medium price range. Any suggestions welcome.

I stayed at Bibi's some years back and loved it there, but its not really close to a beach - from memory we walked 10 - 15 minutes down the road to the nearest beach. Didn't try any snorkelling there.

Have a look at the website for Coconut Grove Beach Resort. Rainbow Reef Resort, a short boat ride from Taveuni may also suit. Haven't stayed at the resorts, but have stayed at other resorts in the area. The snorkeling is breathtaking. The best we have experienced in Fiji.

Paradise Taveuni is worth a look. However, there is NO beach at all. We knew that before going, so were not disappointed. You can snorkel off the beach. Tours to rainbow reef, and other reefs in the area are offered. Beautiful grounds for your child to play on.

Oh - I couldn't find it FVM. Is it the same one flicarose posted in another thread that has your email address as the contact or do they actually have their own independent web page? Could you direct posters to it with a link? Lucky you to stay at a resort that wasn't officially open according to information in the other thread......

We stayed at Makaira last year and loved it. However I don't think they allow children younger than 8. You might need to email to check.
