Will AC ever become like Vegas?

Just wanted to know what others have to say, do you think AC can successfully reinvent themselves as Vegas East? I was looking at the Tourism Master Plan and it looks promising and all, but right now this is all just in its conceptual stages.

What I find Vegas-like with AC?

- lots of clubs, bunch of casinos within walking distance of each other

- Pacific Ave aka The Strip

-Many restaurants that are in Vegas are also in AC (Carmines, Morton'sSteakhouse, Il Mulino)

- Great shopping. Pier shops at caesars certainly isn't like the Forum Shops but they have a nice selection of shops

- Decent entertainment lineup on the weekends (midweek is another story)

- Many casinos that are in Vegas are also in AC (Ballys, Harrahs, GN, Tropicana, Caesars)

While I can appreciate the opinion that since A.C. draws so many tourists it has the affect of skewing the numbers.

However, using the same logic Disneyland would be an unsafe place as would many national parks!

I'm sure if you look at crime verse population of residence that reside in disneyland, it is a dangerous place. It's not though.

I don't want A/C to be Vegas. I love it . Even with all its blemishes, scars and any other issues it may have. It's MY Atlantic City!

It reminds me of the Sex and the City episode where the sailor during fleet week bashes NY City and Carrie says..."I won't have no man trashing my boyfriend!" lol

Nah; in Las Vegas:

1) Open (alcoholic) containers are not banned.

2) Lottsa hoochie coochie cards being passed out on the Strip.

3) LV prostitutes are bold enough whereas they will approach & try to hit on you w/o discretion; be it on LV Blvd. or their quick in & out romps thru the casino floors back out onto the Strip during the wee hrs. of the mornings.

" I will totaly feel safer in AC than the middle of Baltamore any day"

I live in Baltimore City, and I agree with this statement.
