Amada(Revel)-Go here if you like to be treated like dirt

My husband and I live local and decided to check out the Revel. We like to go into Atlantic City and eat at nice restaurants all year long. I had wanted to try out one of the new restaurants here, so we walked around and chose Amada. It looked well decorated and had a wonderful view of the ocean.

The restaurant was empty; it was a week night around 6pm. There was only people sitting at a few tables and the majority of the tables were empty. The hostess said do you want to sit at a bar high top or in the dining room. We chose the dining room to have an ocean view, or so I thought. The hostess walked us through the bar and tried to sit us at the table furthest from the windows and practically in the bar still. We asked is there anything near the windows we could have instead. She left us standing there and walked away. Then she came back and offered us another lousy table.

At this point we had enough. We said nevermind we will eat somewhere else. We left very insulted and annoyed. I will never go back again. I guess they would rather have empty tables, then provide a nice dining experience for new guests. We went to another waterfront restaurant at a different casino and we were treated appropriately and had a lovely view.

Has anyone else had rude treatment here?

I haven't ever dined at Amanda but I have dined at many upscale restaurants. I always tip the host or maître d' five bucks if I want a certain table and have always got it, even during busy times. Money talks! :)

Why give five bucks away when most of the tables are empty??? Its YOUR money paying for the meal so if you don't get a table you like, just leave and find one of the Many dining places that want your business!!!

And that why the Revel has NO customers and went Bankrupt!!!

Hi, Don, same reason people slip the desk clerk twenty bucks for an upgrade, even when the hotel is empty. It's worth it to get what you want sometimes.

I would rather tip a worker if I got an upgrade or preferred seating as a thank you.

I would hate to think we have to bribe employees up front.

Just ask for an upgrade when the hotel is empty and you'll probaly get one.Saved yourself another $20.

We usually just ask and are polite and do alot of Tks's and it works out pretty good!!!

lol, sorry, I guess I am too use to Vegas where every service worker has their hand out. I guess this practice of advance tipping-bribes isn't done east of Chicago?

the revel does indeed have customers and the revel has not yet filed for bankruptcy.

If you'd like to wager that Revel won't file for BK in the next 24 months you can get 100/1......

this is about verb tenses.

the poster said that the revel "went" bankrupt, but the fact is that, despite reports here and there to the contrary, it has NOT filed for bankruptcy. the poster also said the revel has "no customers," which is demonstrably untrue.

there is nothing about my comment that implies i believe the revel will not file for bankruptcy by the end of march. that's why i inserted the word "yet" when i stated that "the revel has not yet filed for bankruptcy."
