Claridge Room Requests

I am staying at the Claridge starting this Thursday (3-2-06) through Sunday. I have read the not so glowing reviews of the Claridge. Some friends and I just plan on gambling most of the time and only sleeping in the room. My question, are there any better rooms, views, or floors, in the Claridge to request at check-in??? I would hope since we are arriving on a Thursday we could get a better selection. Looking forward to my first trip to A/C!!!!

The Claridge is part of the huge Bally's complex....I stay at Bally's often since I get a comped 2 night stay every month. At check in, you can request the Bally's Tower, it's beautiful and you come out of the elevator on the casino floor, or the Denis Tower, also very nice, or Garden Tower, just ok. You can see if they honor your request, depends on what's going on there at the time.

There is nothing wrong with the Claridge Tower. Maybe the rooms are just a tad bit small and it's a walk to the casinos (Bally's main casino and the Wild Wild West). So, see what they say about the other towers, you may just luck out.

Enjoy AC!

Sorry...forgot to mention. If you stay at the Claridge Tower, there is the Claridge casino (also part of Bally's now) there and if you like the Penny Slots, that is just downstairs in the Pennyville Slot area.

Also try the Virginia City Buffet in the Wild Wild West Casino in Bally's...yummy!!!

I have seen the Claridge Rooms and this is ONLY MY OPINION but they SUCK as does the Claridge Casino. If i was going to Atlantic City and i wanted a room that i only cared about is to sleep and didn't care about the long walk to anywhere else or i didn't care about a view than i guess the Claridge Room wouldd be ok.

When i go to Atlantic City my rooms Are comped and even than i refuse to accept anything less than the Ballys Tower Rooms, It is my opinion that if i am going to play, eat and sleep in your casinos i want a decent room to stay in and as for myself i enjoy spending some time just relaxing and watching tv in my room especially after walking all day in AC or do my gaming mostly at night.

I would say that that most serious gamblers mostly stay a max of 2 nights in AC and spend most of their time gambling the required amount of play to get their comps. The other half like me goes for fun to enjoy the slots and poker and enjoy walking the boardwalk etc, so i guess they take that into consideration on when to and how much to upgrade any of the hotel rooms,

To be honest i was dissapointed on the first time i went to Ballys last August as my expectations were alot higher. I thought being that it is Atlantic City the rooms would all be spectacular. Sorry to say but that isn't so.

I was in The Sands tower rooms last trip for one night and it was the same as a Best Western type room, just plain and simple ( No Frills ) I expect that most of the Rooms in a standard room at any AC Casino would be pretty much the same except for maybe a few of the higher standard casinos like The Borgata.

You also have to remember that alot of the Hotel / casinos are pretty old and when they say we have upgraded our rooms that doesn't mean they made them twice as big lol. It might mean newer capets , wall paper etc...

I would suggest to you, The Ballys Tower Rooms if you like Ballys as i have only stayed there and The Sands. If you want a Best Western type of room stay off The Boardwalk like knights Inn or somewhere else in AC if the casino rooms are too pricey for just a no frills room.
