Bogota and Medellin

Any tips or friends to share hostel with here? I'm from Peru and planning to go to Bogota this April 28th till May 1st. I was thinking of going to Medellin for 2 days too! Maybe taking El Bolivariano or a flight by Vivacolombia? any advice? Thanks

In bogota ´now u can find better hostels in better parts than la candelaria as the north part of chapinero.full of nice bars and restaurants where have a good coffee or a dinner and close to zona rosa....there are 3-4 hostels working there and they ll be successfull cause of the strategic and safe location!!I ll test them(I have been in la pinta and it's ok..nothing special as usual in Bogota´but ok)and make some reviews!

I agree about vivacolombia....actually I would stay all the 5 days in bogotas going outside to visit the beautiful sorroundings(villa de leyva, guatavita, zipaquira, a lunch at tambor restaurant in _"la calera")...

I was able to use my american credit card AFTER I gave up with the website and call the to their call center.

So I think both are correct: You cannot use your credit card online, you can use it if you book by phone.
