even worse, it can get really dangerous to stay at hotel kokomo.

we stayed there in january 2008. in the second night, someone broke into our room by cutting the bamboo "window" while we were sleeping in the room. luckily, we didn't wake up. it could have been really nasty to find ourselves eye in eye with a (possibly armed) thief.

beware of the owners of the hotel as well, a norwegian called Finn Martin and his wife Yolanda Paz Delgado. they did nothing to help us and even refused to pay the boat back to cartagena.

so, for safety reasons alone, hotel kokomo is a must to avoid.

p.s.: i tried to post a warning at the lonely planet thorn tree in february. in fact i did, two or threee times. strange enough, as often as i posted it, it disappeared a few days later.
