the plane arrived quite late almost midnight due to some delays in dubai.

we did took a taxi to east train station but the station was closed till 5 am... this was about 1 am..

luckily the taxi driver offere to take us to shenzhen which was ok though expensive... the 2 hour ride cost rmb550!

our biz partners booked us to the best western felicity hotel which charged under rmb500... its an okay hotel... thats where we are at presently.

this is my report as at now...

we have sight seeing/shopping tomorrow,

any suggestions? i need a few things for myself and my kids aged 3-6.

550 sounds reasonable for that journey. Motorway tolls would be quite high. (I paid 500 for a similar length journey at a similar time last weekend and the tolls amounted to 170 for the round trip the driver had to make to pick me up.)

Take the children to Windows on the World and China Folk Culture Village - both easily accessible by Metro.

For cheap shopping go to Dongmen pedestrian street or to LuoHu although the latter is a rather annoying place. Plenty of shopping malls otherwise.
