this seems to be a new property. Because i remember seeing posters advertising Holiday Inn Express Opening offers.

Location wise its close to the metro line & is near the popular Diwang building.The MIXC mall is five - ten minutes away & has a good food court on top.

The hotel is 2 metro stops from dongmen

What is Diwang and what is MIXC ?

And what is the name of the Metro stop near the hotel ?

Diwang a.k.a. Shun Hing Square is the tallest building in centre. The top floor has the Meridian View Centre, where tourists can have a bird's eye view of Shenzhen and Hong Kong through telescopes. MIXC is a mall nearby.

This below link says that the hotel is only 3 minutes walking distance to Grand Theater Metro Station (known as "Dajuyuan" and Mixc City.

I know you didnt ask me, nevertheless, if I were you, I would either prefer to stay in Dongmen/ Luohu area for shopping or in the windows of the world/ happy valley area close to the tourist places....Just my two cents....)

Thanks Sweetamani for your advise. We will indeed stay in the Window of The World area for first two days then move to Holiday Inn Express for two more days. Originally I was thinking of picking a hotel right in Dongmen itself for shopping like Days Inn. But some friends say Dongmen is very crowded and noisy. So when I chance upon the HIExpress review which says it is near metro station, I thought we should go for it. Another reason is I like new hotel as everything will be nice and new. May be we stay one night in Dongmen area ? mmm... will think about it

Is Dongmen St far from Holiday Inn Express? Apparently the hotel says they have free shuttle service within 2.5km radius of the hotel. We are planning to stay there in September. We book our rooms thru a company in Shenzhen called Century Holiday. Heard of the company?

From the hotel address on the net, Dongmen is 2 metro stations away.

Regarding the shuttle bus, suggest you to specifically check with the hotel if they would Dongmen as I am not too sure of the road distance.

Just got back from Shenzhen. We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. It is a new hotel with nice comfortable bed,pillows and the room has a sofa bed for a third person. The staffs were excellent especially James who were very helpful. B'fast included. Don't expect it to be like other Holiday Inn hotels. It is about 15 mins walk to the nearest metro station. Behind the hotel there are quite a few restaurant which is quite good. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel very much, it's clean with foc. internet access. Hotel to Lowu shopping centre by taxi is around RMB15+-. Please ask the reception to print an enlarge address and map of the hotel. Quite a few of the taxis that we took does not know the location of the hotel. At Lowu bargain,bargain and bargain.

Hi Ronal, is the Luohu shopping you talked about Dongmen or some place else ? If it is Dongmen, the MTR will solve the walking problem. However, it seems walking distance to the MTR station is elready 15 mins or so, is it better that we walk straight to Dongmen ?
