Hi,

I'll be at Xiamen for 5Days trip this March. Could anyone help me to find a cheapest hotel that walking distance from Shopping Centre? And what are the beautiful sightseeing that we can visit that would not cost us to much?

And is it possible for us to visit other cities that near Xiamen? What cities and how long would be the travel time via ferry or bus or train?

Please help us.

There're 2 IYHs in Xiamen, one near Xiamen University and the other on Gulangyu island. Both are well-located for sightseeing; no comments on shopping.

How long would be the travel if we want to got to Macau from Xiamen? Is it possible? Because I heard that Macau is the best place for Shopping.

I thought other places in the area like Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou were more known for shopping, than Macau.

I doubt there's a direct bus for Xiamen -- Macau. You should take an overnight train Xiamen -- Guangzhou and then bus Guangzhou -- Macau.

How long Guangzhou from Xiamen? Does it take overnight? Because, I told to my colleagues that instead of Macau, we can shop to Guangzhou. And do you have an idea how much would be the fare from Xiamen to Guangzhou?

Quanzhou would be the obvious nearest choice.
