Siem Reap/Phnom Penh in August

does anyone know what the weather is like in August? Is it also the low season for tourists? When visitng the Angkor Wat or any of the temple, is it ok to wear a pair of shorts and t shirts. I read somewhere that slippers are not allowed in the temple?

I would not wear shorts, wear below-the-knee capri pants or long pants. Not only will you garner more respect but you will keep the mosquitoes from biting you all over. T-shirts are fine.

While August wil lbe pretty hot, it is not the hottest month, and there may be soem rain as it wil be inthe middle of rainy season. School is out for some kids in western countries so there will be plenty of tourists then.
