Telephones

Hi

I do not have a mobile so am interested in how much it costs to phone back to the UK. Are phone cards available that can be used from the hotel rooms?

Dubai is the land of the mobile so not sure if Etisalat (local service provider) makes these any longer. There's a thread just slightly above or below yours which gives the url for Etisalat - have a look on there. You will also find landline rates, but bear in mind your hotel puts a service charge on whatever is quoted. Etisalat has a stand/office in arrivals at the airport so you can also make enquiries when you get here.

Hi,

You can buy a wasel mobile service, which is a sim card for Dubai phons, and on www.etisalat.ae you can search for the prepaid phone cards for use with the public phone system to make international calls.

hope you can find the info you want

Vafa, re-read the post, she doesn't have a mobile phone.

Liz, glad you got the information. And, as I mentioned, you can always ask Etisalat staff yourself when you arrive.
