I'm planning on staying at either the Hilton Deira or Arabian Courtyard in Bur Dubai. Is one location better than the other? I'm not interested in a beach resort nor spending a lot of money on a hotel. More interested in visiting souqs and mosques. I would like to visit Jumeirah & New Dubai (Burj, Iranian Mosque, Madinat Jumeirah). Is it easy to catch a taxi in Deira/Bur Dubai to Jumeirah and back? Taxis expensive? Approximate driving time to Jumeirah from hotel?

Also, I understand the Iranian Mosque is open to non-Muslims for viewing. Does anyone know what days/hours tours are available?

Also, would like to eat at Burj. Which restaurant is recommended? Is the view from the Burj very good or would it be better to Madinat Jumeirah? Or another restaurant with great views?

I work for Hiltoln, so I'll leave the better/best hotel discussion to those without interest in the matter.

Getting taxis from Deira and Bur Dubai to Jumeirah is easy. Taxis are plentiful and cheap.

As for the restaurant question, which is more important, the view or the food? And what sort of budget are you working on? If you're here for a few nights you could eat at both Burj and at one of the places in Madinat Jumeirah.

Hilton also runs a bus from their Creek property to their Jumeirah Beach property if you feel the need for a beach. Taxis are plentiful, clean and inexpensive.
