Flying in to LP from Hanoi on 29th. May to spend 12 days in Laos; with our Lonely Planet and so much great advice and information gleaned from this and the Vientiane Forums.(without asking a lot of questions that have already been dealt with!)
Thanks to the regular contributors such as Rufuscat, who's no-nonsense advice has been appreciated. (and yes Rufuscat, we will be spending at least 2 days in your city and dare not ignore your accomodation and restaurent selections!)
My only questions relate to whether water levels on the Nam Ou will be sufficient for boating up river from L.P. to Nong Khiaw, Muang Ngoi Neua and possibly as far up as Muang Khua. Secondly, would the last leg to Muang Khua be worth while. i.e. Would this add much to the experience of Mountains, scenery or village life?
As usual, we propose to organise ourselves along the way but propose to travel up river by road where ever possible. Mel
