Zadar....Help

Hi,

Looking to book a holiday next year, as ryanair have cheap flights.

Can you tell me what the area is like, how far the airport is from the main tourist areas, how to get from the airport to these resorts, do some resorts have beaches, done a little research on line but very vague.

Thanks for any help

For info on beaches have a look here, croatia-beaches.com/sandy/best_sand_beach_cr…

If you want a sandy beach Nin is a good option. It is easy to get by bus from the airport into Zadar and then by bus to the coastal towns. A hire car is useful if you want to explore the national parks.

You may consider Falkensteiner Punta Skala resort for something upscale. Zadar area is not really developed in terms of resorts so options are few. Nin has really nice beaches and this list of sandy beaches on Croatia Beaches web site is ridiculous as Nin beats most of them.

if you are looking for cheap settlement nearby, I reccomend You Camping Planik 20 km far from Zadar in small fishermen place Razanac. they can organize You airport transfer. prices per transfer are cca 37 EUR. You can rent a tent fully equipped for 4 people/or camping house (fridge, linen...) it is a good spot for visiting surrounding area, towns Zadar, Pag, Nin, national parks Krka and Paklenica. they also have organized trips for kayak on river Zrmanja 30 min driving. beaches are pebble. sandy beaches 5 km away. western city also nearby, horse riding and carting avalable there. worth to see.

when in Zadar try to visit sea organ, greeting to the sun, st donat church. good snack restorans you can find in old center-called Varos, as well as nice lounge bars Ledana & Garden.

There are taxis from the airport and depending on season price can be from 100kuna to 200kuna. There is also a bus which will take you to the main depot in the city for 65 kuna so if there is more than one is is usually good to get the taxi. Lulic taxis are great. The drive takes about fifteen minutes, very quick. The bus station is about a ten minute walk from the old walled city entrance.
