We are planning a trip to Croatia. We will be comming from Venice, and would love to see Dubrovnik. What is the easiest way to get from Venice to Dubrovnik during June? After spending a day or two in Dibrovnik we would like to do some island hopping, staying on a island for a day or two and then go to the next island. We have 7 days for this. Any suggestions, and does ferries run between the islands?
There is some ferries between the islands, but they are not available as you would like....for island hopping in Croatia, the easiest way is sailing or cruise. You are every day in new island, or if you rent a boat for your own, you can go whenever yo want and stay wherever you want.
Will it be better to rent a car and drive from Dubrovnik to Split, and on the way stopping and taking day trips to the various islands? The other option is to stay in Dubrovnik and take day trips to the islands around Dubrovnik, is that possible, and which islands will we be able to see? The ideal is to travel from Dubrovnik by ferry or boat to Korcula, stay a day or two, then a boat or ferry to Hvar and stay a day or two then to Brac and Split, any way how this can work? We do not want to do the cruisliner option, would however like the sailing option, but if we want to do the sailing option, we would need to get a skipper, and wonder what influence this have on our privacy?
The ferry from Dubrovnik to Korcula is likely to be twice a week in June. There's a daily catamaran between Korcula and Hvar at 6am. You can get between Hvar and Bol by buying a one way ticket with an excursion company. There's a catamaran between Hvar and Milna on a Tuesday.
