Although it is a bit out of the way, 10 of us stayed at Apartments Marija last summer. This is about the 4th time we have used this place with a large group. It is located in Lapad near the soccer field and near a bus system access point. It is a bit out of the way, but nice and quiet as well. Takes about 5 minutes on the bus to get to the Old Town. The people are also great!

I stayed at the Hotel Lapad near Gruz harbour last year. I can't speak highly enough of the hotel, staff and service.

It's about 25 minutes walk from the old town but buses are frequent and stop almost outside the hotel.

We stayed at Sipa Apartments, which overlook the Old City and has stunning views of Lockram and the Adriatic.

I stayed at the hotel neptun. It is a great spot if you wish to have some rest and relaxation by the private beach. It s quite beautiful actually. I was with a larger group as well and it offered appartments with a kitchenette (there were six of us in one appartment) or the more conventional style hotel room. It was a fifteen minute bus ride into town, with the bus stop being right in front of the hotel. The place was quite modern even by north american standards and i cannot say enough about the beach, the views and the food. You should google their website. If you take the apartment with the kitchenette there would be no need for board and that way you could save money and eat elsewhere, even though their restaurant was quite good... I hope this helps...
