embera tour-

we are considering to go on one of the embera tours possibly with anne.

i was told that we travel about an hour or so by canoe into the jungles to one of several villages.

we were concerned about needing malaria medicaton or not on these tours?

any information on this would be helpful

thank you

Medications no - the usual protection (spray, lotions, long sleeves) will do. If you are a bug magnet be prepared - if the critters don't usually bother you it will be just another day in the wild.

Anne's tour is great, but on the high end of the price scale - worth it IMHO.

Enjoy Panama

We did an Embera tour last year out of Gamboa Rain Forest Hotel. It was a half day tour and very enjoyable. It was mid February and there were no bugs or mosquitoes. Go, you'll enjoy it!

despite dawat's advice, I would do what Steve suggests for insect protection.....you never know. We still have mossies right now even tho it is hot and dry and no-see-ums (the worst ones) in the beaches and jungle areas..

dawat was very lucky.
