Starting to plan 3 wks Croatia/Slovenai trip

HI, I am in the early planning stages of a trip for August 2013 to Croatia and Slovenia. We will have 3 weeks plus or minus a few days. We do like architecture , food, wine and cities but really love beaches, swimming, and hiking in mountains the most. SO from some basic research I have a very loose scheule of the places I want to see but nothing set in stone. Advice appreciated.

Fly from San Francisco to Zagreb(2 nights)

Drive to Ljublana(1-2 nights ) Would like to see Prejama castle and caves

Lake Bled ( 2 nights) Also seeing Lake Bohinji, Cable car up Mt Vogel and Vintgar gorge ( maybe 3 nights?)

Drive Vrsic Pass thru Julian Alps and end up somewhere for the night? Kobaird? Piran?

Piran 1 night?

Rovinji 2-3 nights also seeing Pula

If it is logical on getting there, I would luv to ferry over to Mali Losinji 2 nights

Lake Plitvice 2 nights

Split/Trogir 2 nights

AT this point dump rental car and ferry hop some islands

maybe Hvar 1 night, Korcula 1 night (having a hard time figuring out ferries. When does summer 2013 schedule come out? would like to ferry hop all the way to Dubrovnik with out car

Dubrovnik 3-4 nights with a day trip to Montenegro or and overnight trip would be fine too.

I dont mind a fast pace..... So what do you guys think? Suggestions? Thanks!
